Chronicle of Practice — My Story
From writing Punjabi stories and teaching students to leading career programmes, connecting learners with industry experts, and creating resources that help people move forward — I have always believed that learning can open doors. Looking back, none of these experiences was entirely separate from the next. Each one taught me something about people, learning, communication, opportunity and the courage it takes to begin again.

2012
Roots & Creative Beginnings
I started my academic journey studying Electronics and Communication Engineering (B.Tech in ECE). While surrounded by circuit diagrams and technical coursework, something else pulled at my attention: writing. I began writing stories in Punjabi, several of which were published in prominent newspapers like Ajit. Writing was where I first learned how to observe human experience and communicate in ways that made people feel understood.

2016 – 2018
Self-Reliance & Teaching
After my B.Tech, I pursued an MBA in Marketing and HR. During these years I took on home tuitions for school and college learners. Teaching became a masterclass in human psychology: every learner needs different support, patience and a different path to clarity. When I finished my MBA, there was no campus placement awaiting me. Finding my first role meant creating my own momentum.

2018 – 2019
Vikalp India
I joined Vikalp India as a Relationship Manager in field marketing, travelling across schools, meeting principals, teachers and administrators, and presenting educational kits. It taught me professional discipline and stakeholder management. When family health responsibilities required me to relocate to Jalandhar, I chose to pause and adapt — a reminder that a career must fit real life.

2019 – 2021
Resilience & Freelance
Without an institution behind me, I stayed connected to education through freelance academic work, tutoring, and working as a Subject Matter Expert with Chegg. When the pandemic hit in 2020, uncertainty deepened everywhere. These years taught me patience and an important truth: career gaps on paper never tell the full story of human effort.

2021 – 2024
ScholarHat
In early 2021 I interviewed across industries and faced sharp rejections — including from Amazon. Then on 20 May 2021, I joined ScholarHat as an Education Counsellor. Over three years I counselled more than 10,000 learners, led the sales function, built hiring pipelines, and managed high-performing teams.

2024
Exclusive Closer
After three years of rapid growth, I faced burnout. In 2024 I moved into B2B consulting with Exclusive Closer as a Senior Business Consultant. It gave me space to ask: what is the work I genuinely care about building for the rest of my life? The answer was unmistakable — teaching, mentoring, and shaping learner futures.

Early 2025
IIP & Return
I auditioned to deliver a placement webinar for 80–90 engineering and management candidates at the Indian Institute of Placements. Standing in front of that room, my voice clicked into place. I was selected as an R&D Trainer, leading placement bootcamps for B.Tech and MBA cohorts. Soon after, ScholarHat invited me back as Training & Placement Manager.

2025 Onwards
Building Programmes
My work moved from enrolment to employability. I built and ran the Career Launchpad, Interview Launchpad, Industry Launchpad, and Developer Career Growth & Acceleration programmes, and regularly host masterclasses with engineers, managers and directors from Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn and global startups.

Author & Creator
The storyteller who wrote Punjabi prose in 2012 now writes published resources. I co-authored The Ultimate Placement Guide, was ranked among the Top 5 Creators on the Naukri Creator Hub, and founded The Better Days Collection — printable planners and journals — with illustrated children's stories in publication.
